We are part of a Body…with different gifts.
I’m glad there are people who want to devote their time to studying systematic theology and maintaining the importance of Biblical revelation and a cohesive system of propositional truths.
Think of attending a series of classes all about oranges— studying to become a graduated expert in the history and chemical anatomy of the fruit, and to be able to list all of its characteristics, but never being taken by the hand, led into an orange grove, given the chance to touch, to taste.
This is how so many doctrinal debates and discussions leave me feeling. Without the juicy chin and orange finger nails, absent the cool of the evening walk through the grove, we sound Gnostic.
